Estimate: £2,000 - £3,000

Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

circa 1770, the top with torus moulded edging, the four graduated drawers all with twin gilt brass swing handles, on bracket feet, 82cm high x 96cm wide x 58cm deep

The chest bears the usual knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use. There are stable and closed cracks across the top and one down the left side. There are one or two areas of replacement veneers. Also some areas of replacement cockbeading. The metal wear appears to be original and the gilding remains bright. The drawer linings are split in places. Possibly re-polished overall.
