the casket-shaped top with slightly domed cover opening to a mirror and silk lined compartment, the crossbanded and quarter veneered fall front set with a porcelain panel painted with a winged cherub within an “ormolu” mount enclosing drawers and a green tooled leather writing surface, the canted corners flanked by classical caryatid figures and porcelain panels to the sides and back, on a stand with base drawer, slender cabriole legs and sabot feet, 43cm wide x 98cm high

There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use. Mounts are lightly tarnished. The veneers lifting slightly on legs. No key. In good untouched 'country house' condition.
