The canvas, which is apparently un-lined, is loose on the stretchers with a large patch repair to the centre of the portrait and associated re-touching, The canvas appears to be degrading at the back. There is evidence of other re-touching and damage consistent with life in a country house. The giltwood frame is in overall good condition with some damage including a large crack and evidence of gold over-paint.
