The painting has been relined.
Examination under UV light indicates that this painting has additional vertical painting (approx 15cm) to the left of the sitter's head (her right), a similar area (approx 10cm) to the left of her corset and a smaller area (approx 2cm) to the right of the corser, together with two vertical areas of additional painting (15cm and 25cm approx respectively) to the bottom right corner. These areas suggest repair.
UV light also indicates a green striated wash across the painting.
The gilt frame has slight loss and chipping.
