Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

From The Estate of John Whitwell MS, FRCS, 'Bagatelle', Branksome Park, Dorset.

There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use.  As noted in the catalogue entry, the mirror is heavily foxed, there are losses (to the carved elements) and the mirror has been regilded. It is an attractive and well-drawn mirror in 'country house' condition. There has been repairs to the scrollwork at the lower right.
