to Charles Affleck Hodgson, 21st KRRC buried in Suzanne Military Cemetery No.3.
Charles Affleck Hodgson was born in Bridlington in January 1888. He lived in the village of Sewerby and worked as a Joiner and Painter.
Hodgson attested a Bridlington on the 5th of October 1915, joining the 21st Bn (Yeomanry) Kings Royal Rifle Corps with service number C/12037. He was posted to France with the Bn on the 5th of May 1916 and steadily progressed up the ranks, being promoted to Sergeant in Jun 1917.

March 1918, he was posted to the 9th Bn KRRC. He sadly died of wounds on the
13th of April 1918, with his service papers noting he died from a
Gunshot.
Charles was laid to
rest in Suzanne Military Cemetery No.3, located on the Somme. He was entitled
to a British War Medal and Victory Medal.
