with later elements, the hinged lid opening to a vacant interior, the panelled front with a floral carved frieze, on block legs, 81cm high x 157cm wide x 63cm deep

Note: Included within the chest is a scroll showing the plans for three houses. By repute one house was built around this very coffer. The scroll is dated July '76.
