The cabochon ring's setting appears to be secure with good claws; the stone is securely set and does not rattle. There is some evidence of wear to the edge of the amethyst as well as some minor scratching/dimpling to the stone's surface. The amethyst does display some internal colour variation and inclusions, as well as a characteristic white mark on the outer surface. There is no evidence of repair or resizing, the hallmarks are crisp for '9.375', Birmingham, 1989.

The faceted ring's setting appears to be secure, with minor wear to the claws, however the stone is securely set and does not rattle. There is some very small areas of pitting to the gold's surface, particularly around the pierced mount: there is no evidence of significant repair work or sizing. The amethyst is in good condition with little to no visible wear to the facets, it does however display a slight transparent internal inclusion across the table. The hallmarks are a little discoloured but can be read as '9.375', London, 1977.
