HARDY, Thomas. Address by Thomas Hardy on laying a commemoration stone at Dorchester Grammar School, 21 July 1927.

Original 5pp. typescript sewn with string, with ink and pencil corrections by Thomas Hardy. This is the script he used at the stone laying and which was later used by Cambridge University Press to set a printing of the speech

i. Proof of the printed pamphlet of the address published by the Cambridge University Press with Sydney Cockerell’s annotations and corrections. 
With a second proof and and an uncorrected proof in variant wrappers.

ii. Two copies of the final printed address - nos 8 and 12, each signed with Hardy’s monogram (2 complete copies).
With other material. Housed in a later blue cloth portfolio with gilt lettering on upper cover.
