A PRIMITIVE WELSH ELM AND ASH COMB BACK ARMCHAIR

late 18th century, the shaped cresting rail over a ‘lobster-pot’ spindle back, to a slab seat retaining residual iron-red paint, on splayed block legs joined by an “H” stretcher, 107cm high x 54cm wide x 48cm deep

There are a number of restorations to the chair, including to the arms and the arm rails, old screws apparent. Surface marks and scratching throughout, notably to the seat. Wear concentrated around the feet and legs. The paint is worn throughout.
