the upper section with architectural broken pediment over a fluted frieze alternated with paterae, the astragal glazed doors opening to shelves, the bottom section with panelled and crossbanded cupboards again opening to shelves, 241cm high x 220cm wide x 57cm deep

This bookcase has clear signs of age and use and some areas that would benefit from restoration. Part of the pediment it detached but present. A number of the 'dentils' from the moulding are missing. The is a mark/knock to the left hand corner of the pediment. The glazed panels are scratched and there are a few small hairline cracks. One panel is missing its very top corner. There are numerous losses to the moulding of the panelled doors. The doors them selves have some dryness and splitting apparent. The base is subject to wear, notably around the corners and there are marks to the side panels. Key is present however lacking appropriate screws for fixing. The back piece of the top section is likely a later replacement, there are alterations to allow for its fixing.
