dated October 6th 1797, a two page letter from the then-Captain Earl, regarding a letter that had not reached his ship the Monmouth, and discussing the road from Dundee to Montrose, 23cm x 19cm

Note: The Earl was third in command at the Battle of Trafalgar. This letter was written in the year that Northesk was involved in the Nore Mutiny, when he was confined to his cabin by his mutinous crew.
