A QUEEN ANNE GOLD ACTIVE UNION MEDAL BY JOHN CROKER (1670-1741)

commemorating the union of the Parliaments of Scotland and England in 1707, the obverse with the Queen looking to the left and the reverse with the Arms of Britain within a shield, with a rose and a thistle below and a crown held by two infant genii, 35mm, the interior of the original shagreen case with an 18th century inscription stating erroneously “Given by Queen Anne to my grandfather James M. Member of Parliament on her Coronation”
