A GEORGE II GILT TOLE HALL LANTERN

probably circa 1750, the square body with four glass panels with arched tops, the moulded tole frame retaining traces of the original gilt and red paint, the shaped top incorporating a circular glass shade beneath a gilt crown finial, with later fittings for electricity including the later chain, 42cm high and the panels 29.5cm wide

This hall lantern is wired for electricity and must be removed at the Buyer’s risk and expense.

One glass panel cracked. The metal corroded and with losses to the painted scheme. Some of the glass may have been replaced. With consequent damage associated with fitting for electricity.
