the rectangular seat with a moulded edge over a guilloche-carved and moulded seat rail, on four turned legs joined by squared stretchers, 49.5cm high x 44.5cm wide x 26.5cm deep

Provenance: The lack of labels indicates that this stool was probably introduced to Sandford Orcas Manor by Hubert Hutchings in the late 19th century.

In historic country house condition. The seat possibly an old replacement secured by five pegs and additional nails stained around the heads. The frame worn and with evidence of worm damage, and general deterioration consistent with age and the materials employed.
