These rare tables were clearly conceived as a pair but there are minor variations to the carving on the lower part of the stem.
In historic country house condition consistent with age and the materials employed.
Both tables are of exceptional colour and surface. One has a small piece of moulding missing from the pie-crust edge. Two of the legs have been spliced and secured with metal straps underneath the leg. The top and base appear to be original but the top is paler due to exposure to sunlight whilst the base has bronze-like patination associated with the finest furniture of the 18th century.
The second table is in good condition with wear and damage consistent with age. It is exceptional to find a pair of tripod tables of this date, both of which retain their original tops.
