Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

In attractive untouched historic country house condition with minor damage consistent with age and the materials employed. The lozenge-shaped escutcheon and the brass knob handle on the lid probably replaced in the early 19th century. The carrying handles appear to be original and the quality and the figuring of the timber is exceptional and the surface and colour most attractive. There are no "C"-scrolls missing but one is cracked and requires repair.
