Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

In historic country house condition with wear and damage consistent with age.

The box is of good warm colour although the veneers are stained, rubbed and with scratches on all sides.

There is warping to the lid, a screw drilled through the base and wood fillets added to secure the box to the Georgian stand beneath.

The escutcheon has been replaced and the hasp of the lock is broken off at the end.

The Georgian stand has no top as it has been removed to accommodate the strong box, although the drawer beneath is functioning.
