A VINTAGE SYNTHETIC RUBY AND DIAMOND CLIP BROOCH

in 14ct white gold, c.1940s, set with calibré cut synthetic rubies and rose and old cut diamonds, totalling c.1.00 carats, secured with a clip fitting with engraved detailing and brooch pin fitting, no assay marks, 3.3cm, (gross weight - c.12.0g)

The brooch is in overall good condition with no signs of damage or heavy wear. The synthetic rubies are all present and in overall good condition. A couple of them have some light abrasions to the pavilion and crown facets. Only visible under x10 loupe. The diamonds are all present and in good condition with no signs of chips or abrasions. All secure in their settings. The clip fitting is in good condition and functions well. Solder marks visible at joints with pins. A brooch pin fitting has been soldered to the back of the clip fitting at a later date. Light scratches to the gold throughout, commensurate with age.
