A CHINESE WHITE METAL MODEL OF A HORSE AND CART

marked to the underside of the carriage, 10cm long, boxed; together with a small Chinese model of a table, 2cm high; a salt, in the form of a shoe, 8cm long; and a napkin ring (4)

Provenance: Thomas Child (1841 – 1898) was a pioneering photographer who produced a large body of photographs during his time in Beijing during the 1870’s. He was close to the Emperor and the court. The family believe a number of objects were gifts from the Imperial family.

The napkin ring is ok, slightly tarnished.

The miniature stool/table is bent at the legs and slightly tarnished.

The salt is ok, some wear consistent with age and use, including rubbing to the decoration and tarnishing. The glass liner is slightly chipped to the edges.

The horse and carriage has several small dents, the reigns are twisted, it is missing a pole for the parasol. Slight tarnishing to the metal.
