A COLLECTION OF CLOISONNE

including a Japanese bowl and cover, 10cm high, a small Japanese vase, 13cm high, three cloisonné napkin rings, a Japanese box and cover, a very small pair of vases, 6.5cm high, a cup and a bottle vase (10)

Provenance: Thomas Child (1841 – 1898) was a pioneering photographer who produced a large body of photographs during his time in Beijing during the 1870’s. He was close to the Emperor and the court. The family believe a number of objects were gifts from the Imperial family.

The 'Daisy' napkin ring has several enamel losses and dents. 

The tall blue baluster vase has a dent/enamel loss to the shoulder at the bird.

The bowl and cover has a chip/loss to the enamel.

The box and cover has some areas of enamel loss. The lid/rim is dented and they do not fit 100% tight. 

The remaining are largely ok. Some pitting and wear to metal throughout, consistent with age and use.
