A GILTWOOD MIRROR OF CHINESE CHIPPENDALE DESIGN OF GEORGE III STYLE

20th century, the three shaped plates within a foliate and rocaille-work carved surround, Chinese figures playing instruments to both sides, a further figure to the cresting beneath a pagoda surmount, 140cm high x 152cm wide

This lot is in good countryhouse condition.

The mirror is a replacement and there is later gilding.

There has been some repairs to the top rails please see the images. This does not detract from the stability or the aesthetics of the piece.

There are two reinforced repairs to the back  (please see images)  

There are cracks throughout but the piece is stable. There are general chips, cracks and missing areas to the extremities.

The central figure to the top has part of his hand missing and his instrument.
