probably Han dynasty, naively carved with multiple white inclusions, 3.8cm high x 4cm wide, in a fitted wooden case Provenance: An English private collection. Acquired in Tokyo in the 1990's by the grandfather of the present owner, and thence by descent.
Worn and rubbed, particularly to the edges. Light surface scratching evident. Chips to the edges of the slit. Natural inclusions.
