possibly Shang or Western Zhou period, of stylised form, with carved hooked beak and plumage, incised details to the eye, feathers and body, 6cm high x 3.3cm wide, in a fitted wooden box

Provenance: An English private collection.
Acquired in Tokyo in the 1990's by the grandfather of the present owner, and thence by descent.

Overall in fair condition. Worn and with light surface scratching overall, particularly to the edges. A few small chips, notably around the apertures.
