The painting generally presents well. It has been relined and restored, but not recently. The picture surface is stable, with some craquelure throughout. There are some blemishes and areas of dirt, especially along the depicted horse's back. There is an area of unevenness towards the lower right corner of the canvas, with the instability creating a 'bubbling' effect. There is some wear towards the edges of the canvas. Aside from this, the painting presents fairly well. Please see additional images available on request.
The painting comes from a deceased estate in the West Country and, as such, should be considered fresh to the market.
