A letter from Spencer to Mr Williams, asking him, amongst other requests, to secure for him 'a copy of Mark Twain's Tramp Abroad (I think that is the title)' on County Hotel, Carlisle, note paper. A letter from Carpenter to Mrs Williams with regard to a proposed meeting with 'Prof Carus' (Julius Victor Carus, eminent German Zoologist , anatomist and entomologist) on University of London headed notepaper but altered to 17 Saville Row.
