MILITARY OBE GROUP TO MAJOR H T CHAMBERS ASC / BRITISH ARMY OF THE BLACK SEA. Major Harold Tullis Chambers was born in Seacombe, Cheshire in 1891. Educated at Gresham School in Norfolk and Kings College Cambridge. Chambers was a Chartered Accountant. Commissioned as a Temporary Second Lieutenant 31st August 1914 into the Army Service Corps. Landed at Gallipoli on 7th August 1915. Chambers also saw service in Serbia, Macedonia and Constantinople in the HQ of the British Army of the Black Sea. Mentioned in Despatches twice 28.11.1917 and 30.1.1919. Awarded the Military OBE 1st January 1919 for Salonika. During World War Two he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 3rd November 1939 and served in the BEF. Chambers passed away in 1950.
