The former property of Sir Charles Hawtrey, (21st September 1858 - 30th July 1923), a successful actor-manager who was the eighth child of John Hawtrey and his wife, Frances Hawtrey. He specialised in playing debonair, often risque, parts in comedies and was illustrated in a Spy print.
