A CHINESE POTTERY PRANCING HORSE

Tang, the sensitively modelled animal with raised hoof and well-defined musculature, the grey body covered in a cream-coloured pigment, 41cm high

Provenance: The family of the late John Walden (born 1926), a noted collector and member of the OCS from the early 1950's.

With an Oxford Authentication Certificate (TL Testing Sample C123h29) dated June 2023 stating that "the sample yielded a result consistent with manufacture during the Tang Dynasty.

In good overall country house condition with repairs and degradation to the surface consistent with age and the nature of the object. At least one hoof appears to have been re stuck. Attractive soil in incursion evident in scattered patches.
