In historic country house condition consistent with age and the materials employed.

This chair is of good size and proportions. The frame has damage and wear consistent with age and the back legs are faded due to exposure to sunlight. The red cotton floral damask upholstery is distressed, particularly along the serpentine top of the back. The frame has not been inspected beneath the upholstery or base cover and it is likely that it will have been subject to repair and/or replacements over the last 250 years. The chair is sturdy and sound.
