William K Shepherd landed in Gallipoli on the 30th June 1915; he suffered a bullet wound to his left leg on the 17th of September 1915.

He was evacuated to Malta for recovery and, due to the seriousness of the wound, was sent back to the UK. He was discharged in March 1916 due to no longer being physically fit.

Michael Lomax was born in Freetown, Lancashire, in 1880, a car cleaner by trade.

He attested on the 21st of September 1914, joining the 16th Bn Manchester Regiment, the 1st City Pals Battalion. He served in France with them from the 8th of November 1915 until the 8th of June 1916, when he was posted back for home service.
Transferred to the Military Police on the 26th of May 1917 and was discharged in June 1919.
